Greatest Irish Woman of all time - NANO NAGLE !!
Nano Nagle, the Founder of the Presentation Sisters, has been voted the Greatest Irish Woman of all time. The vote took place on the Marian Finucane radio show with the result announced yesterday, Friday 24th June.
Voters could choose from a shortlist of 10 women from earlier public nominations: Doctor Kathleen Lynch, Mary Robinson, Sophia McColgan, Nora Herlihy, Christina Noble, Michelle Smith, Edel Quinn, St. Brigid of Faughart, Grace O'Malley & Nano Nagle.
In January 2003, a poll in "The Sunday Tribune" voted Nano as the Great Irish Person of the Millennium.
