Religious Sisters

We, the Sisters of St. Clare (Poor Clares), were founded in Assisi in the year 1212 when St. Clare was inspired to live the Gospel ideals of poverty, simplicity, love and joy through the example of the life of St. Francis of Assisi.

Living in community and guided by the spirit of St. Clare, we strive to be prayerful women sharing each other's joys and sufferings.

In the spirit of Francis and Clare we try to bring the love, peace, compassion and hope of Christ to all people.

Our Sisterhood is one of simplicity and joy.
