Assumption, Little Sisters of the

Our Congregation was founded in 1865 in France, at the beginning of industrialisation, by Fr. Etienne Pernet, Assumptionist, and Antoinette Fage, with the aim of 'procuring the Glory of God by the salvation of the poor and 'little ones'.
We are at present in 24 countries, in all continents.

Our mission today, as always, takes its inspiration from Jesus, who came to 'bring good news to the poor'; living in city neighbourhoods where young families are to be found. The Sisters try to live as 'neighbours', sometimes initiating and always trying to support local community activities for the well being of families and areas.
In Ireland we are based in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Belfast.
