Marie Reparatrice Sisters
"Make known God's tender love for the world"
The Sisters of Marie Reparatrice were founded in France by a young Belgian woman, Emilie d'Oultremout, in 1857. The mission of the congregation draws its inspiration from the founders' spiritual experience of the tenderness of God's love for the world. Emilie suffered because of the indifference to this unceasing offer of God's love, which awakened in her a deep desire to make this love known.
Today, in 21 countries, the Sisters continue to be inspired by Emilie's commitment to Christ in His mission of Reconciliation in our world of violence and injustice. They live this through lives of prayer, Eucharistic adoration, retreat work, catechetics and pastoral ministry in its various forms.
