Vocations Ireland

On the 6th September last, the Sisters fo the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary had reason to celebrate when Sr. Siobhain O'Keeffe made final profession in the Sacred Heart Convent, Blackrock, Cork.

Sr. Siobhain made profession in the presence of the Congregational leader, Sr. Elizabeth Dawson.  The Profession Mass was celebrated by Most Rev. John Buckley, Bishop of Cork.

Siobhain was joined by members of her family and friends and many of the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

Sr. Siobhain is a native of Cork but trained and worked as a nurse in England prior to entering religous life.  She said that while she had explored the possiblity of a vocation in her teenage years, it was many more years before she discerned this more fully and took the final steps that led her to join the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

The story of Siobhain's vocation journey appears on the "Vocation Stories' page of our website.
